PARAMEDIC HEART SURVIVOR CHANGEMAKER
Alexis Kae Lombard
Alexis Lombard’s life was shaped by emergency medicine before she could take her first breath. At just five days old, she underwent emergency open-heart surgery to correct a congenital heart defect—a race against time that saved her life. Decades later, Alexis now races against the clock herself, responding to emergencies as a Paramedic.
Serving communities across Chicago, Illinois, and Hennepin County, Minnesota, Alexis has witnessed firsthand a powerful truth: in an emergency, seconds matter. Those seconds can mean the difference between life and loss.
Alexis is empowered to amplify that message within Miss America. Through her Community Service Initiative, Sixty Second Difference, she empowers communities, students, and neighbors with critical emergency skills that can change outcomes in under a minute. At the same time, she proudly uplifts Minnesota’s Emergency Medical Services—the professionals who step into moments where every second feels like an eternity.
Her mission is simple yet profound and relevant: educate on emergency skills, elevate EMS, and engage with everyone to save more lives—both inside and outside the ambulance.
