WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
a trip down Miss America memory lane
Just a few short months later, I found myself competing in my very first Miss America local Competition—bringing with me a dream, my Rubi Jubi prom dress, and the moral support of my sister (the only one who knew I was doing it).
As competition day arrived, anxiety was running high. Especially, in the event I feared most—talent.
In the spirit of growth (and sharing my love for emergency medicine), I taught emergency water rescue via a monologue with a Minnesota twist, of course, since we’re the state of 10,000 lakes.
My first local gave me: lifelong friendships, a newfound sense of confidence, and an undeniable excitement to compete again. The life-changing power of Miss America.
2022
Witnessing firsthand how COVID intensified health disparities while working on an ambulance in Chicago, Illinois, I knew I was ready to pursue higher education. I wanted to better understand politics and the powerful role it plays in shaping healthcare. Like many young adults, I faced a major barrier:
the cost of a college education.
One afternoon, while sitting in Viator Coffee in Elgin, Illinois, sipping a seasonal special, I scrolled through my phone and came across a post from Elle Mark about scholarship opportunities through an organization called Miss Minnesota. At the time, I had no idea that Elle was the Miss Minnesota—or that signing up to compete would completely change the direction of my life.

The Miss Minnesota Organization is proud to have presented over $16,500 in educational scholarships at the 2025 State competition. Combined with in-kind scholarships, the Miss Minnesota Organization provided nearly $300,000 in educational scholarships.

SERVICE : To support our young women who devote a year of service promoting the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Program. Their year of service provides them the forum to share not only their social impact initiative and their talent, but the opportunity to express their views on local, regional, national and global issues.
SCHOLARSHIP :To provide opportunities to young women to obtain scholarship dollars. We support higher education for advancing academic goals by using the model of competition. This experience prepares them to accept life's challenges and to produce role models who exemplify and promote positive values.
SUCCESS :To support a statewide organization of dedicated volunteers who devote time, talents and resources for the betterment and longevity of the Miss Minnesota and Miss Minnesota's Outstanding Teen Programs.
STYLE : To provide young women with opportunity for personal growth, fitness and self-expression. To emphasize the importance of doing one's best while championing educational and career goals.
